Kilchoman's flagship Machir Bay is a vatting of first-fill bourbon matured whisky, finished in oloroso sherry butts before bottling at 46% ABV. A characteristically Islay dram, it's delicate and approachable rather than aggressively peated. On the nose, vanilla, lemon zest and a subtle coastal influence set the tone. The palate delivers tropical fruit and dried sultanas alongside warming smoke and butterscotch sweetness.
