Daniel Bouju Cognac

Available for £54.50

Daniel Bouju is a family-run Cognac house based in Saint-Preuil, in the heart of Grande Champagne, the most highly regarded cru of the region. Established in 1805 and still in the hands of the founding families, it remains a true grower-producer, making Cognac from estate-grown Ugni Blanc and ageing it on site.

The style is shaped by traditional Charentais distillation and a patient approach to maturation in oak, producing Cognacs with notable depth, concentration and length. Grande Champagne’s chalky soils bring finesse and lift, while extended ageing allows the richer, more complex notes to develop without sacrificing balance.

The range moves from youthful, fruit-led bottlings to older, more contemplative expressions, including the house’s well-known Brut de Fût. Bottled unfiltered at cask strength, it is an uncommon style in Cognac and a good example of Daniel Bouju’s combination of power, maturity and precision.
