Nose: a bit sweet. Also dank, mossy. Dried orange peel, raisin, damp wood, very slight peat. A decent range of aromas, but ultimately quite thin. Taste: that hard bite of young grain whisky. A bit more peat smoke than was evident on the nose (though not a peaty whisky per se), a bit less fruity sweetness. Finish: sweetness goes over to bitterness...

I picked up a bottle of Grant’s very reluctantly in 2005 after reading Jim Murray’s praise for the blend. I was very board by it at the time.
