Glenrothes Distillery founded in 1878 although for much of the twentieth century it’s primary function was to produce malt which went into the Cutty Sark blend created by Berry Brothers and Rudd. In 1987 however the first Glenrothes Single Malt, a 12 year old, was released and since then the distillery has enjoyed a steadily growing reputation for its single malt whiskies.

In addition to the widely available Select Reserve, Glenrothes releases a number vintage bottlings with the Glenrothes 1988 winning high praise from many whisky aficionados.
